I create images that lean towards my graphic design background. Strong lines and blocks of colour, pattern, contrast and abstraction. Always looking for beauty in the mundane, capturing moments within the urban landscape.

After a brief stint in London in the mid-late 90’s, I returned to my homeland of New Zealand to complete my visual design studies upon which I set up my first studio, working with a wide range of clients across the country. In 2008, I returned to London, where I continue to work as a Creative Design Director in the corporate sector.

I've been passionate about photography for most of my life but over the past 5-10 years I've dedicated more thought and time to the process. Being mostly self-taught it’s easy to miss some fundamentals, so in 2019 I studied at the London Institute of Photography which has helped bring concepts together.

In 2023, my photo ‘Damascus’ was selected as part of the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.

My influences range from the pioneering mid-century colour work of Saul Lieter, Fred Herzog, William Eggleston and Ernst Haas through to the more recent masters of light and shadow, Harry Gruyaert and Alex Webb.
